unschool your mind:
the #1 Secret to Revolutionize Your Child’s Education (and Life!)
If you want to raise truly free-thinking, free-spirited, courageous, limitless children -- children who grow into fulfilled, purpose-driven, and powerful adults -- you have to start with yourself.
“Your children will become what you are; so be what you want them to be.”David Bly
There’s just no way around this one.
Whether you like it or not, the single greatest influence on your child’s life is how you’re living your own.
And here’s the ugly truth: you are indoctrinated.
Yes, you. Me. All of us. We were born into a system that deeply conditions us to obey, conform, and trade real meaning for mediocrity and security.
We’re taught from an early age to belittle our imagination and surrender our inner sovereignty to systems that were designed to confine us -- schools, corporations, governments, the financial system, the entertainment industry -- are the pillars of a worthy life. In reality, if we aren’t conscious, they become the bars of our captivity.
And unless you actively unlearn all the ways you limit your own imagination and potential, you will unknowingly pass that same programming onto your children -- disguised as "education," "responsibility," and "real world security."
But let’s be real…
The “real world” that most people live in? It’s broken. It’s soulless. It’s a hamster wheel of busyness, debt, unfulfilled potential, and bottomless consumption.
Yet despite so many of us feeling crushed by this way of life, we march our kids straight into it blindfolded, thinking we’re doing the right thing.
Why?
Because we don’t even know we’re trapped.
How You Were Programmed (And Why You Don’t Even See It)
From the moment we’re born, we’re trained to:
Follow the rules, even when they don’t make sense.
Seek outside approval from teachers, bosses, coaches, and peers.
Suppress our imagination, because dreaming big is unrealistic.
Prioritize safety over growth, because risk is dangerous.
Believe that struggle = success. If it isn’t difficult drudgery, it must not be worth anything.
Ignore our intuition because “experts” know better than us.
Reject possibilities, because we’ve been trained to see our cage as an inescapable reality, and our freedom as an unattainable fantasy.
So without realizing it, most of us are raising our kids within this exact same paradigm -- not by desire, not by (conscious) choice, but because it’s all we’ve ever known. And most of us are too even look at it, much less challenge it.
We say, "Get good grades!" instead of "What are you passionate about?”
We say, “Follow this schedule” instead of “How do you want to spend the precious hours of your life?
We say, "You need a degree!" instead of "You need a deep sense of self, and a compelling vision for your one-of-a-kind life."
We say, "Be careful!" instead of "Be bold, daring, and totally audacious!”
We’ve all heard parents say, “We know it sucks, but this is just how it is, and you need to get used to it.” Well, I believe there’s nothing more freedom-crushing or spirit-breaking than this message.
This kind of thinking does nothing to prepare our kids for life (aka BEING ALIVE). It trains them to accept mediocrity, abandon imagination, and forfeit their spirit to a broken system.
And just like that, the cycle continues. Another generation of kids gets locked into the same lifeless script -- because we as parents never learned to unschool our own minds.
And this is the message most of society is unknowingly transmitting to our children.
As Matt Beaudreau so brilliantly said:
You say, ‘I would die for my child.’ And I believe you.
But would you live for them?
Would you get yourself healthy?
Would you eliminate distractions?
Would you lead them more intentionally?
You’d only have to die once.
You have to live every day.
Do that.
As of 2026, Pat and I have spent more than 20 years working in the field of human potential... we’ve also been parents for 20 years… we’re 13 years into homeschooling… and we’ve committed ourselves to decades of personal growth and transformational inner work.
And let me tell you – we are still uncovering gaping blind spots in our own conditioning.
This stuff is sneaky. The deeper we go, the more liberating it gets -- yet the more shocking it can feel to uncover yet another layer of unconscious self-limitation. It’s humbling to know how truly blind we can sometimes be to our own blocks.
But when you’re ready -- really ready -- to lift the lid on the box and see what lies beyond what you’ve been told is possible, it has the power to change everything you know about reality -- and set your entire family free.
"You have to let it all go.
Fear, doubt, and disbelief.
I’m trying to free your mind, Neo.
But I can only show you the door.
You’re the one that has to walk through it."
– Morpheus, The Matrix
How to Break Free (and Take Your Kids With You)
If you want your child to live a life of freedom, purpose, and fulfillment, it starts with the way they’re educated.
After all, education as society currently understands it is quite literally defined as “conditioning.” It is the process of molding individuals to think, behave, and function within the expectations of society -- for better or worse.
And who is the single most influential teacher in their life? YOU, as their parent.
The greatest education they will ever receive is watching how you live your life, and what you teach them is possible. You are the example of what adulthood, freedom, love, work, and potential are supposed to look like.So non-negotiable first step to revolutionizing your child’s education is to reprogram your own.
Here’s how…
1. Question Everything You’ve Been Told
Steve Jobs said, “Everything in the world was made up by people that were no smarter than you.”
Really think about that for a moment. Every custom, every value, every law, every system within this world was at some point made up by someone else. But just because something is universally accepted does NOT automatically mean that it’s optimal, wise, or even effective.
You do not have to blindly follow someone else’s rules. You have the power to make your own (as long as they don’t harm anyone else).
But first you have to wake up to all the ways in which you’re programmed to follow the status quo:
Why do you believe traditional school is necessary? What do you believe is the real purpose of education, anyway? Have you ever deeply thought about it?
Who decided what a “successful” life looks like, and why do you believe them?
Do you truly own your thoughts, or are they reflections of what you’ve been told? How do you know?
Do you accept systems as “the way things are” rather than something humans invented (and something that can be transformed or improved)?
Do you equate security with conformity rather than with self-reliance and creativity?
Why do you feel more comfortable following the rules than questioning them?
What invisible forces dictate how you live -- without you even realizing it?
What would happen if you trusted your own intuition more than authority figures?
Are you raising your children to be free thinkers -- or just well-behaved participants in a system?
If no one had ever told you what life “should” look like, what kind of life would you create?
Every belief you hold about education, work, success, happiness, fulfillment, purpose, and life itself -- put it under a microscope. Does it actually belong to you? Or were you just told it was the way things are?
Most importantly… Is it serving you? Is it functional? Does it help you come alive, or does it dull your spirit? This is the barometer.
2. Heal & Reclaim Your Own Imagination
If we believe that we are the creators of our reality, then naturally we have to begin by healing our imaginations.
After all, how can we create a better world for our children if we can’t even imagine one for ourselves?
What if learning wasn’t about grades but curiosity and mastery?
What if work wasn’t about survival but passion and impact?
What if life wasn’t about playing it safe but living fully and fearlessly?
Children don’t need us to teach them how to dream -- they need us to remember how.
Here are some simple ways to rediscover and reawaken this essential part of yourself:
The Power of Play: Remember how to do things for fun without a goal and without restraint. Imagination is awoken through experiencing joy for the sake of it, without a purpose.
Throw a Glitch in Your Own Matrix: Give your creativity permission to roam, and expand your range of comfort by behaving spontaneously, boldly, and outside of your own box.
Get Lost in Nature: Observe all the ways in which life thrives, and your spirit soars, without systems of control.
Intentionally Shatter Your Worldview: Expose yourself to challenging new information and experiences, rather than simply existing within an echo chamber of your own thinking. The mind can’t grow if it only consumes what it already knows.
Let Your Child Be Your Teacher: This is one of the great secrets of homeschool: the teaching goes both ways. Children naturally see the world without fear and limitation, until they’re conditioned otherwise. Instead of teaching them to "be realistic," let them teach you how to dream again.
Reclaim Your Time and Energy: This is one of the most radical acts of rebellion in a culture that runs on burn out -- because a conscious, creative, and sovereign energy system cannot be easily controlled.
Stop Asking for Permission: (and on that note, seeking outside approval) Your life is YOURS and yours alone. Only you can make it count.
Start Turning Your Dreams Into Reality: What would your days look like if you were truly free? What kind of life would you create for your family? You have the power to make small daily decisions that move you toward that life.
2. Be the Revolutionary Example
Your child is watching you. They see how you live, what you prioritize, and whether you’re actually happy or just pretending to be.
Do you chase your own dreams or just talk about them? Or have you given them up completely?
Do you stand boldly in your values or shrink for approval or safety?
Do you choose adventure, creativity, and purpose or settle for comfort?
Are you blazing a trail for a better, more beautiful world, or just accepting things as they are?
This is the realest education of all.
If you want your child to live a bold, unshackled life, it’s up to you to show them what that looks like. And it all starts with your own thinking.
The Real Revolution Starts With You
Breaking free from the conditioning that has shaped our entire worldview isn’t easy -- it’s uncomfortable, disorienting, and even terrifying -- because it has the power to change our entire lives (something most of us pray hard for, but then cower in the face of).
But it doesn’t have to be painful, and you don’t have to do it alone. The Homeschool Revolution Program was created for parents just like you -- those who sense that something is deeply wrong with the way we’ve been trained to think, live, and educate, but don’t yet have the tools to fully break free.
We don’t just help you homeschool your children -- we help you unschool your own mind, so you can raise them in a way that is truly free, authentic, and driven by purpose.
You don’t have to pass down the same tired blueprint of mediocrity. You don’t have to raise a child who grows up to trade their soul for a salary or silence their authenticity for approval.
But the only way to free them is to first free yourself.
Unschool your mind.
Unlearn the conditioning.
Reclaim your imagination.
Only then can you truly revolutionize their education and life. Only then can you truly reclaim your family’s freedom, creativity and power, and watch your child thrive in a way you never even knew was possible.
This is the revolution. It starts with you.
